Fantasy February is Fantastic #fantasymonth

Um, so…this is my first post since January 4th. That’s kind of embarrassing. Um…yeah. BUT some of my favorite bloggers, The Everhart Author and The Arbitrary Fairy have done a challenge started by Jenelle Leanne Schmidt on her blog. As I love fantasy and free content, I decided to do the same challenge because I am so original. So let’s begin!

Look at this beautiful graphic!

What was the first fandom you fell into?

So, does fandom mean interacting with the fan community or just being a fan by yourself? According to Merriam-Webster, it can be described as both ‘all the fans’ and ‘the state or attitude of being a fan.’ I will answer both!

The first fandom where I simply had ‘the state or attitude of being a fan’ was probably the Disney Fairies fandom when I was little. I was obsessed with the movies (my favorite fairies were Faun and Rosetta) and eventually I began to read the Tinkerbell books. I actually thought fairies were real when I was little (I still hope nowadays…) and I was determined to meet them.

Being in a fandom with ‘all the fans’ would probably be How To Train Your Dragon. I enjoyed the first and second movies, watched Race to the Edge, became fanatically obsessed, introduced my best friend to it, had a huge crush on Eret, and DEVOURED memes. After that, I read the books and watched the third movie and my heart broke.

What is the most recent fandom you’ve become a part of?

I would say BTS but this is fantasy related, so probably Avatar: The Last Airbender. My best friend’s older sister was obsessed but we just never got around to watching it. Then my other friend showed me and I got hooked! The character development, worldbuilding, and magic system are PHENOMENAL!

Star Wars or Star Trek?

Star Wars, but after the sequel trilogy and the sadness that was Rise of Skywalker and the firing of Gina Carano I’m pretty much only in it for The Clone Wars, the upcoming Bad Batch show, the books, and Rebels which my friend has recommended but I haven’t started.

Marvel or DC?

I really don’t like superhero movies, and I’ve only watched Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and the original Wonder Woman TV show. So…Marvel, I guess? Into the Spiderverse was a good movie.

What is a fandom you love enough to want to live in that world?

The 2003 version of Peter Pan’s Neverland is beautiful, but the Four Nations (Avatar) and Narnia and Middle-earth are also amazing! Plus if I could live in Star Wars during the Clone Wars…ugh…

Two fruitless quizzes later…

I think for now I’d say Neverland because I always had a crush on Peter Pan and it would be wonderful to live in such a beautiful world, with fairies and mermaids where I could stay young forever.

If you could hang out with a character from one of your fandoms, who would it be and why?

Ok, to narrow this down, I’m going to pick between my faves from my top five fandoms.

  1. Star Wars–Captain Rex
  2. Avatar–Sokka
  3. Newsies–Race, Jack
  4. Narnia–Edmund, Lucy, Peter
  5. 2003 Peter Pan (THIS COUNTS LEAVE ME ALONE)–Wendy, Peter

I would have to say Captain Rex. I love that man.

Unknown fandom (something you love but nobody else seems to have heard of)

If you’ve been paying attention to this blog post you know one of two fandoms I’m going to name.

2003 PETER PAN!

I love this so much. I watched it with my best friend but she wasn’t interested. DJ, my older brother who actually introduced it to me, has broke my heart by telling me he doesn’t like it. 🙁

Another one is Newsies. I discovered it last year when we did it for our dance recital, but nobody I know really likes it.
